The donor gives through Stripe-hosted checkout on your campaign or athlete page. Payment is processed immediately.
Step 2
Stripe captures the donation, platform fee, and processing fee. The donation amount is earmarked for your organization.
Step 3
Stripe schedules a payout to your connected bank account based on its standard payout schedule (typically 2 business days for established accounts).
Step 4
The donation amount arrives in your bank account. The platform fee and processing fee were collected from the donor and never touched your payout.
Stripe onboarding
During onboarding, directors connect or create a Stripe account through a guided flow built into HometownLift.
Stripe handles identity verification and banking details directly. HometownLift never sees sensitive financial credentials.
If your organization already has a Stripe account, you can connect it directly without creating a new one.
Once connected, the Stripe account is used for all campaigns under your organization. No re-setup needed per campaign.
Payout timing
Payout timing depends on your Stripe account status. New Stripe accounts may have a 7-14 day initial payout delay while Stripe verifies the account. After that, payouts typically arrive within 2 business days.
HometownLift does not add any additional delays. Funds move on Stripe's schedule, not ours.
